House System

The Dornoch Academy House System is designed to foster team spirit and healthy competition amongst pupils from S1 to S6.

This is done through the awarding of house points for activities such as reading and reviewing books, maths challenges, inter-houseand inter-school sporting events, citizenship, acts of kindness, leadership, and sustained high standards in schoolwork, homework and uniform. Dornoch Academy has three Houses: Carbisdale, Dunrobin and Skelbo and each pupil is allocated a House on entry to S1. The House System is run and managed by the heads of house, the house captains and the junior house captains.

Miss MacLeod is head of Carbisdale, Mr Traynor is head of Dunrobin, and Mr Parkin is head of Skelbo.

Every year, the pupils in the winning house take part in a Champions’ Day. The House Captains organise a day filled with fun activities for the pupils to enjoy and they fundraise for the event throughout the year
