From the 2nd to the 6th of June, eight Dornoch Academy pupils and a teacher joined up with other Sutherland youths and leaders to cross Sutherland by foot.
We are delighted to report that our venture was successful! Walking a staggering 110km and camping along the way, the experience was—for all involved—truly life-changing.
Blisters galore, we trudged—sometimes briskly, oft times wearily—from Scottish coast to Scottish coast. We formed deep friendships, marvelled at Sutherland’s striking scenery and each overcame physical and mental walls to prove our individual grit.
Perhaps most importantly, we have almost reached our £5000 sponsorship goal! Donated money will go to: the Dornoch Academy, Golspie High School and Kinlochbervie High School funds; Lochinver Lifeboat; East Sutherland Rescue Service; and Friends of the Sutherland Veterans.
You can still donate via fundrazr.com to “Coast to Coast 17.”
