Well done to all of the Dornoch Academy cross-country runners who took part in the Ross-shire event in Alness on Wednesday the 10th of February. Matthew Tomalin (S3) ran in the under 15 boys category, and done superbly well – finishing in a top 10 position! For the girls, we had Claire Matheson (S4) and Sophie Morrison (S3) running in the 15 and over category. Both managed to finish in a strong position and looked like very comfortable runners throughout the course. The final race was the 15 and over boys where we had 4 entrants; Ian Morrison (S4), Edward Murray John (S3), Alex Banks (S3) and Dean Hewitt (S3) – all four boys managed to complete the most difficult course on offer and done well to run against some very tough competitors. All of our pupils showed tremendous team spirit on the day and were a credit to the school. A special thank you goes to Mrs Allan for driving everyone over to Alness and for cheering on our athletes all day. Well done again to everyone who took part!
